In stealth

More energy from the same wind.

We are a young deep-tech company helping wind turbines get more out of every gust.

01The problem

We make your blades produce more.

Wind turbine blades are not fully aerodynamic. The root is nearly a cylinder, the middle is a trade-off, and only the tip is truly streamlined.

We make every section more effective.

Root · cylinderNearly a cylinder. The air breaks away behind it and energy is lost.
Middle · thick profilesA trade-off between strength and shape: thick, rounded sections.
Tip · thin profileStreamlined. The air flows cleanly.

02The idea

What if tornadoes helped wind turbines make more energy?

A tornado is known for destruction. Shrink it to the size of a fingertip and it becomes something else: a small, orderly whirl that moves air with purpose. That whirl is the starting point of VortexLab.

03The technology

Tornado-like jets.

When air flows over a surface with the right kind of dimples, it does something unexpected. In each dimple it organises itself into a small, steady whirl, like a miniature tornado. Scientists have studied this effect for decades and used it in industry. We are bringing it to wind energy.

  • Self-organisingIt forms on its own

The whirls come from the flow itself. Nothing has to start them or keep them going.

  • PassiveNo moving parts

No motors, no power input and nothing to switch on. The shape of the surface does the work.

  • Proven elsewhereAlready at work

The effect has been used for years to move liquids and gases with less effort and to transfer heat better.

04The business

More energy means more revenue.

A wind turbine earns money for every kilowatt-hour it produces. Help the same turbine make more from the same wind, and the whole wind farm earns more.

  • CustomersWind-farm owners and operators

Their gainMore energy and more revenue from turbines and sites they already have.

  • CustomersTurbine and blade makers

Their gainBlades that get more from every gust: a clear edge in a market where every percent counts.

  • EveryoneThe energy transition

The gainMore clean electricity without new land, new towers or new permits.

05See the difference

Smooth versus dimpled.

Air that touches a surface slows down and clings to it. Along a blade this slow layer grows, steals lift and can tear away from the surface altogether. Dimples change how it behaves.

Smooth surface The slow layer gets thicker as the air travels along.
Dimpled surface Each dimple spins a small whirl that throws slow air back into the stream. The slow layer stays thin.
Fast air Slow air Air spun by a dimple

06Origins

Where it all started.

With its inventors, Prof. Gennady Kiknadze and Dr Ivan Gachechiladze, father of our CEO Irakly. Together they spent decades studying this effect and putting it to use. Now VortexLab is taking it to the wind.
